Launching the Margaret Thatcher Tribute Fund, Finchley and Golders Green Conservatives along with Mike Freer MP raised over £30,000 provide gardens for patients at North London Hospice, in Woodside Avenue, Finchley. Mr Freer, who has represented Finchley and Golders Green since 2010, said it was a fitting tribute to his predecessor.

He said: "She was a great supporter of the hospice movement going right back to when she was MP for Finchley. She was involved in helping North London Hospice with fundraising. It was something that was very much one of her local campaigns. And gardening was one of the things she liked. When she went on holiday, she liked to go and visit gardens. So the fund is a nice way of the two things coming together."
