Childs Hill Library is set to reopen after improvement works on Sunday (11 Feb) – and will soon have a team of volunteers helping to ensure it stays open for years to come.
Barnet Council is working with community groups on innovative ways to keep all of our libraries open. Kisharon, a local learning difficulties organisation, has been appointed to run services at Childs Hill Library for 15 hours per week – with Barnet Mencap helping out on Sabbath days and Jewish holidays.
This will ensure the book lending services, children's events, IT facilities, and community events residents are used to will continue. While boroughs like Labour-controlled Brent have closed libraries, Barnet is delivering on its pledge to keep all our libraries open.
